With the subway line U4 you can reach within 10 minutes either the old town next to the opera or the castle Schönbrunn in the other direction.
As already mentioned, within 3 minutes walk you can reach the subway line U4, which brings you within 3 stations to the Karlsplatz, the biggest traffic junction of Vienna.
Arrivals by car always find a parking space on the street, but are chargeable during the week though. However, adequate garages to park the car cheaply during your stay are sufficiently available.
